Pregnancy Massage - £32.00

A pregnancy massage is a full body massage including the stomach - but this is optional if you feel that you would not like it. It is carried on in a side lying postion using supporting pillows, lasting for 1 hour.

We carry out a thorough consultation to take an accurate medical history and to detemine what the client needs from the treatment.

We do not carry out treatment on anyone before the 2nd trimester of pregnancy.

Massage In Pregnancy

Massage can be enormously beneficial during pregnancy, not only to the mother but also to the un-born baby. It emotionally and physiologically supports a woman during a time whenm her body is undergoing many changes and can help prepare the body for birth.

During this wonderful time the babys developement causes many changes to the mothers' body putting pressure on joints. ligaments and organs often causing discomfort and pain.

There are huge benefits of pregnancy massage. It can help alleviate aches and pains and other common health problems associated with pregnancy -and massage can help to reduce stress levels by it's calming effect.

Massage encourages the release of 'feel good' endorphins which are also passed on to the baby.

Regular massage during pregnancy can make the mother more aware of her own body which will help with the ability to relax during the 1st stage of labour and often results in shorter and easier births with less pain and a lower rate of postnatal complication. Also due to the increased prolactin and mammary development there can often be more success with breast feeding.
